UP ALCHEMES finally recognized

oblationThe Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students can now officially attach UP to its name after it was given due recognition by the College of Engineering for Academic Year 1999-2000. College of Engineering Dean Prof. Edgardo Atanancio signed the Certificate of Recognition.

Acquaintance Party, Raffle Draw held

partyParty! Party! Party!
About 50-people-strong members of the UP Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students (UP ALCHEMES) held their first-ever Acquaintance Party last September 26, 1999 from 4-7 PM at the National Engineering Center (NEC) Lounge. This activity also marked the first significant gathering of UP ALCHEMES officers and members after being officially recognized as an academic organization by the College of Engineering about a week earlier.

Last December, the org officially became a part of this year's Engineering Week celebrations by joining Volleybagan '99, the volleyball tournament sponsored by the GE Club and Tablahan '99, Tau Alpha's basketball tournament. However, both campaigns failed to produce a victory for the organization. Good luck next year, guys!
